Thethi Region is the heart of the Albanian Alps, at a distance of 70 km from the city of Shkodra. Because of its climate and biodiversity, Thethi is declared a National Park. The National Park covers an area of 2630 hectares and is located at a height of 600-2570 meters above sea level.

The place is covered with dense forests, of which 90 percent are covered by dense forests of beech. In the Thethi Park, there are centuries old beech trees with a diameter from 1 to 1.5 meters. Other types of tree are maple trees, ash, hornbeam. There are various flowers of which worth mentioning is the “Wulfenia Baldachi”, an endemic plant that was discovered by the Italian botanist Baldachi. This flower is found only in this Park. The fauna of the park consists of 50 species of birds, 10 species of reptiles and 8 species of amphibians. It is worth mentioning that Thethi Park remains the most important habitat in our country with a population of Lynx lynx, a species which is highly endangered. Different kinds of woodpeckers, golden eagle, Salamandra and alpine variety of colorful butterflies are also found here. In the waters of the stream Thethi lives the marble fish.

Among the most interesting objects that tourists should visit in Thethi are the waterfall Grunasa, which has a height of 25-30 meters, blue eye, stone bathtubs, cave Arapi etc. Thethi National Park is known for its heavy snow precipitation, which typically lasts 150 days a year. We can say that for about 6 months, this area remains blocked by the snow, and includes Qafen e Terthores, 2,000 meters above the sea level, which connects Boga with Gropa Thethit.

In Thethi, characteristical are the Alpine style buildings with pitched roofs constructed of stone slabs. “The Tower of Isolation” is found here, an epic element of Albanian culture, where, during the blood feud, the killer used to hide. Today this tower is a cultural monument.

In Thethi, numerous outdoor activities can be organized, such as hiking, speleology (cave tourism), mountain sports fishing, winter sports on natural slopes covered with snow, mountain biking, etc.
